Product Overview
Semax is a synthetic ACTH-derived heptapeptide supplied by Arche Research as a lyophilized material for lawful laboratory, analytical, and non-clinical research.
Research Context
Semax is a seven-amino acid synthetic peptide developed at Moscow University as an analog of the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) fragment ACTH(4–7), extended at the C-terminus with the tripeptide Pro-Gly-Pro. This structural modification increases metabolic stability relative to endogenous ACTH fragments while retaining the core pharmacological activity associated with the ACTH(4–7) sequence. The peptide has been studied primarily for its effects on brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression, dopaminergic signaling, and cognitive function.
